Understanding The Check Engine Light
When the light comes on, a single or additional diagnostic difficulty codes (DTC) are stored in the engine control module. This produces a volumetric efficiency of significantly less than 1. At times however, when you have a tuned induction/exhaust method or a forced induction program (supercharger, and so forth.), more air will enter the cylinder than it should generally hold and you get a VE greater than 1. This table is employed as a sanity check, in particular when the car is beneath high load, so that the personal computer knows how to adjust fuel and spark values to respond to anticipated cylinder pressures.
With careful intake/exhaust tuning you can get a spike in torque at a higher RPM, which will make a higher peak HP value but if the location under the torque curve is pathetic, your car or truck will always be much less strong than an additional …
